this book explained how my previous post of a recent news article of a virus on the Chinese production line on a new pc is to be expected. dependence on other countries to make all our products makes the USA the underdog in cyber warfare. Another drawback to buying foreign made products.
According to Microsoft, a new tendency has arisen in cyber-crime: to install viruses into computers as they are being constructed on production lines.
In their study, the software giant Microsoft found that several new computers contained malware and that the malicious code had been installed in the factory where the computers were constructed. According to The...

From the beginning, Sam Walton and Wal-Mart focused
on buying goods as cheaply as possible, which often meant buying
imports. Here is an examination of the history of Wal-Mart's procurement
practices in Asia and China -- even through its own "Buy American"
promotional campaign in the 1980s and 1990s -- and the prognosis for the
future.

As a happy hypocrite, I read this article knowing that I still walk into walmart to save some pennies. I am always frustrated at the lack of service and can't ignore the bigger pictures. Wonder if I stood in front of walmart with a sign, pictures, and videos of the slave laborers who manufactures these products that "save" me a few cents would it make it more real to Americans to buy american?
Why is the connection displaying the women tied to her 2 year old, literally, while she mak... Continue reading ...

Then there’s that other why question: Why, in our zeal to rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan, we never considered spending a fraction as much to rebuild Detroit, New Orleans, or Cleveland (projects that, unlike Afghanistan and Iraq in their heyday, have never enjoyed widespread support)?
I use the term “reconstruction” for convenience, but it is important to understand what the U.S. means by it. Once corruption and pure greed are str...
